Electrochemotherapy (ECT) is a chemotherapy that uses specific electrical pulses and is a novel local treatment and control method for solid and superficial tumors. The short electrical pulses cause cell membranes to become temporarily permeable to cancer drugs. During the procedure, patients experience mild discomfort and edema.
In this study, a 41-year-old woman with a 9-year history of uterine and ovarian cancer was treated with electrochemotherapy.
At the end of the treatment sessions, our electrochemotherapy method showed good clinical results and the tumor responded partially to the treatment according to World Health Organization standards.
