Mammary tumors are among the most common and aggressive neoplasms in domestic cats, and in many cases, surgical intervention poses serious challenges due to the high risks associated with anesthesia or other therapeutic limitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this study, a two-year-old Persian cat with a history of repeated anesthesia and respiratory complications was treated with IRE over two sessions without the use of general anesthesia. The treatment protocol employed an electric field strength of <strong>50 V\/cm<\/strong> using a <strong>Pars Tarava irreversible electroporation device<\/strong>. A plate electrode was applied non-invasively over the tumor with the aid of ultrasound gel to ensure uniform electric field coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"http:\/\/persiantarava.me\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2-1-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"the clinical and ultrasonographic assessment of a mammary tumor\" class=\"wp-image-1361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/persiantarava.me\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/persiantarava.me\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/persiantarava.me\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/persiantarava.me\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2-1-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/persiantarava.me\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2-1-206x116.jpg 206w, https:\/\/persiantarava.me\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/2-1.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clinical evaluation and ultrasonographic imaging demonstrated that the tumor, initially measuring <strong>3 \u00d7 3 cm<\/strong>, decreased to <strong>2 \u00d7 2.5 cm<\/strong> sixteen days after the first treatment session. One month after the second session, the tumor diameter was reduced to <strong>0.72 cm<\/strong>, corresponding to an overall tumor volume reduction of approximately <strong>98.6%<\/strong>. Throughout the treatment period, no side effects, pain, inflammation, or metastasis were observed, and the tumor tissue gradually transformed from a soft consistency to a dense, fibrotic structure.
